Alan was great fun on the golf course and a gentleman off it.

I will always remember Alan for many occasions but none more so vivid as when he coined the phrases 'Le Grand Pierre' and 'Le Petit Pierre' at a hostelry on one of our French trips (a long and alcohol induced story)

Of course the 'Boules' matches will always figure as well.

I think that CFN golf is a lot poorer without you! Thanks for all the good memories.

Many, many sympathies to his family and a loss to us all.
